Lady Warriors move to 7-1 with win over Neumann Goretti

Methacton 56, Neumann-Goretti 50 – Kelsey Watson exploded for 24 points and 14 rebounds to help the Warriors withstand a long-range shooting clinic by the Saints.
Neumann-Goretti knocked down 8 shots from beyond the arc but it wasn’t enough to overcome the double-double unfurled by Watson, who had 14 of her points in the third quarter to help expand a 23-20 halftime lead into a 43-34 advantage entering the fourth quarter.
Jenna Carroll chipped in with 13 points for the Warriors, who cruised to the victory after upping their cushion to as many as 12 late in the final frame.
Methacton (7-1 overall) resumes play Friday when it faces Red Bank Catholic (N.J.) in the Wildwood (N.J.) Boardwalk Classic at Wildwood Convention Center. Also in the same bracket as the Warriors are Pennsbury and Prep Charter (Philadelphia).
