PHOENIXVILLE AREA HIGH SCHOOL: 7
The Warriors defeated Phoenixville by a final score of 8-7. The Warriors jumped out to an early lead with a bevy on 2 out hits by Austin Bregman (1-2, double), Mike Anthony (2-2, triple, 2 runs) and Taylor LeSage (1-3, double) to go up 3-0. With the game tied at 3 going into the bottom of the 2nd, John Wiedemeyer scored on a Kyle Feaster hit (3-4, 3 runs) which was followed shortly after by Jim Shomberg's RBI triple to go up 5-3. Again Phoenixville fought back this time to go ahead, the Warriors stayed tough and evened it up when Zach Jenkins hit a sacrifice fly to score Mike Anthony in the bottom of the third. After a little more see-sawing, it came down to bases loaded in a 7-7 tie, with 2 outs that Reed Hostrander (also the pitcher of record) worked a full count, and eventually drew the game winning walk off walk. The Warriors return to action on Friday at home against Pottsgrove.
