Junior Riley McCarthy bounced the ball past the Upper Perk goalkeeper off a feed from Sophomore Deb Peifer with 1:03 left in overtime to propel the Warriors to a hard fought victory. The Warriors were lead by Senior Ellie Schmidt, 2 goals 3 assists, and Sophomore Sara Hughes, 3 goals. The Warriors were leading 9-4 well into the second half when Upper Perk stormed back with 4 straight goals. Sophmore Maddie Alderfer broke up the UP run with her second goal of the game followed by a tally from Hughes to put Methacton up 11-8. Upper Perk went on another 4 goal run to the take lead. Peifer found the back of the cage off a feed from Alderfer with 22.1 seconds left to force OT. Upper Perk would gain control of the ball first and marched down the field before running into a Warrior double team and turning the ball over. Peifer scooped the ball up and brought it down to thw Warriors offensive end. Methacton took it's time and settled the ball down before Peifer found McCarthy in the middle of the 8 to set up the gamewinner. Juniro Sam Rothman made a season high 9 saves. Methacton upped its record 7-3 overall, 4-3 in the PAC. The Warriors return to action Wednesday at Unionville.
