The Methacton Warriors defeated the Downingtown West Whippets 7-4 in Round 2 of the PIAA AAAA District 1 playoffs.  The Whippets built a 4-0 lead over their first four innings before Methacton posted another come-from-behind win.  In the 2nd inning, Dalton Reed scorched a double to the center field fence and courtesy runner Joe Mejias scored on Ken Jarema's double down the right field line, which also plated Dan Shaw who had walked.    Colin Miller led-off the third with a single, stole second, and scored on Dalton Reed's rbi single.  Miller would single again in the fourth and Downington West scored on an error by Methacton as the Whippets attempted a delayed double steal with runners on first and third.  The Warriors battled right back, scoring four times in the bottom of the fourth, and three more in the fifth.  In the fourth, Methacton loaded the bases with no outs on two walks and a bunt single.  A wild pitch scored one run, and after another walk, Danny Damato sent a long foul fly ball down the right field line.  When the Whippets right fielder caught the ball and ran out-of-play, the Warriors had another run on the dead-ball sacrifice fly.  Austin Bregman then delivered a big blow with a hard hit grounder up the middle scoring two more runs to tie the game.  In the fifth, Tyler Kirkpatrick led-off with a single, stole second, moved to third on a fielder's choice and came home on a balk.  Tim Carfrey who had reached base on an error was driven home by a Clayton Harwick single.  After a fielding error and stolen base moved Harwick to third, he scored on an infield hit by Trip Hagner.  Hagner also came on in relief to pitch 3 1/3 innings of scoreless ball to earn the win, aided by two double plays in the last two innings.  Whippets starter Dalton Reed went four innings and gave way to Pat Krall who took the loss despite surrendering only one earned run in his two innings of work.
