Council Rock North defeated Methacton 9-8 in a 10 inning game in the quarterfinals of the District 1 AAAA playoffs.  The game was tied at 4 going into extra innings before the wild last inning decided it.   Ryan Baker's three-run home run in the top of the tenth game CR North a five run lead.  Methacton staged an exciting rally in the bottom of the 10th, with two two-run homers off the bats of Clayton Harwick and Anthony Santoleri, but fell one run short, leaving the tieing run on second base.  The game featured a total of eight home runs on a day where the wind was blowing hard out to center field.  Tyler Callendar hit a home run in the first to stake CR North to a 2-0 lead, but Tyler Kirkpatrick gave Methacton a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the second with a two-run blast of his own.  Clayton Harwick went yard in the third, for his first of two long balls, as Methacton took a 4-2 lead.  But, CR North struck right back with Tyler Callendar's second home run in as many trips to the plate in the fourth, and Cole German's solo shot in the fifth.  Only three of the game's 17 runs were scored without the aid of home runs - Max German stole home in the 10th, Tyler Callendar got his third hit in the same frame - a rbi single, and Methacton's Kyle Lowery (three hits on the day) scored on an error in the second.  Brett Newman pitched nine strong innings for CR North to earn the win.  Mike Anthony and Trip Hagner carried the load on the hill for Methacton - each pitching five innings and combining for 16 strikeouts.
