Boy's Track Team Earns Medals at Falcon Invitational 4-28-12

The Methacton Boy's Track and Field team returned home Saturday from the Pottsgrove Falcon Invitational with 13 medalists and ribbon winners. Ten regional schools competed during the annual invitational which is specially designed for freshman and sophomore athletes.
First place finishers for the Warrior thinclads included: Stephen Fiorentino (110m and 300m hurdles), Mathew Schulz (1600m), Pat Hopkins (800m), Mike Cassidy (discus) and Mayur Bhandary (pole vault).
Silver medalists included Tom Duffy in the 800m run and the Freshman 4X400m relay team of Mathew Schulz, Akeem Walcott, Dylan Katz and Joe Collis who broke the freshman school record by more than 5 seconds.
Several team members earned seasonal or personal best performances. This week the Warriors will be preparing for an important match-up against PAC 10 rival Owen J. Roberts.
