This will be the last message for the Methacton Warriors site. The girls received a paper on how to sign up for Remind. That is how I will send any messages I need to send out. Picture day tomorrow. Green jerseys and green socks. Coach B

Are you Ready?

2016-2017 Girl's soccer players,

Sorry for the long silence.  I was building up your anticipation.  Actually, I was a commercial plumber all summer. I'm so excited for the new season.  It always excites me  to think about what this season holds: wins, losses, determination, persistence, sweat, hope, anxieties, failures, victories, defeats.  My whole life I've heard people say that "It's not about winning or losing..."  WRONG!  It's all about winning.  I'm not talking about what the scoreboard says at the end of the game.  Yes, winning is putting more points up on the board than the other team; but it is also putting others as more important than yourself, helping someone up after you've knocked them down, reaching out to those who may not be having a good day, seeking to better each other as a team, having a good attitude (off and on the the field), being unselfish, being knocked down and getting back up.  I've won games by points but "lost them" by attitude and pride.  I lost games on the scoreboard but "won" because of spirit and humility. Ladies, it is indeed all about winning.  Let's have a winning season.

I hope you all have been running and getting in shape.  Bring your running shoes the first week. Some like to have running shoes all the time (for running and indoor practices). Practice/tryouts start on the second day of school (9/7) You should bring a ball - if you don't have one, don't go out and buy one yet - I will bring some to the field.  You will also need water.  We will meet in the alcove outside the boys gym - the 8th graders will know where.  Practice will run from 3-5pm.  Parents need to be there at 5 to pick you up.  In the past, I've been known to make you do sit-ups at 5 until your parents arrive.  You will need to bring cleats.  Your attire should be school-appropriate.

Let's have an incredible season together.  Vince Lombardi said, "The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack of will."

Sincerely,

Coach Boyles
