Girls Spring Track and Field Pre-season Meeting

Any student interested in coming out for the Girls Spring Track and Field Team should plan to attend the Pre-season meeting on Thursday, February 14 at 2:30 pm in the LGI. If you are unable to attend the meeting, please go to the Athletic Office to pick up the necessary materials and contact one of the coaches for additional information.

Girls Track Meet on 3/23 has been postponed

The Girls Track and Field Meet scheduled for Saturday, March 23 has been postponed. A makeup date for the meet has not yet been set, but further information will be provided when available. Athletes should not come to the HS on March 23, as practice will resume on Monday, March 25.

Girls Track and Field opens the season with a win against Boyertown

The young Lady Warriors hosted the Boyertown Bears on Wednesday afternoon and came away with a 93-57 victory. Using a combination of veteran leadership and outstanding performances by the freshmen and sophomore's, they dominated the field events and also performed well on the track.

Freshman Devon Petrei came away with 2 event wins, in the 1600M and 3200M to lead the way on the track. Fellow freshmen, Kristen Riddell (winner of the 800M) and Shannon O'Brien (winner of the 400M) teamed up with Lauren Haarmeyer (also a freshman) and Sabrina Williams (junior) to win the 4x400 relay. Junior Juliana Keenan won the 300M Hurdles and sophomore Madi Eastmure won the 100M Hurdles. Eastmure's time also qualified her for the PIAA District 1 Championship Meet.  In the field, the veterans took control. Junior Corrine Meyer won the High Jump. Junior Camille Dunham won the Triple Jump. Junior Kate Evans won the Long Jump. Senior Cam Rodriguez won the Pole Vault, followed by fellow senior Nickie Annelli. The javelin was won by sophomore Cerise Walker.

The Lady Warriors will travel to Hatboro-Horsham for a meet this Saturday before returning to their dual meet schedule against Spring-Ford on Tuesday.

Eastmure, Dunham and Annelli lead Girls Track at Hatboro-Horsham

Competing in the Jim Kelly Invitational at Hatboro-Horsham High School against more than 30 schools, three members of the girls track and field team qualified for the District One Championships, covering 4 events. Sophomore Madi Eastmure ran a personal best in the 100M Hurdles at 16.22 seconds, solidifying her spot in the post-season meet. Eastmure then registered another PR, this time in the high jump at 5' 3", also qualifying her for Districts. Senior Nickie Annelli, coming off her State Medal performance in the Indoor Season, vaulted 10' 6" to add her name to the District meet. Junior Camille Dunham became the third member of the team to qualify, posting a triple jump of 35' 4.5", placing 2nd in the event.

Overall, the Lady Warriors earned 8 medals in the meet. In addition to Eastmure's performance in the 100M Hurdles and High Jump, she also was a member of the Shuttle Hurdle Relay team with Marina Daywalt, Camryn Steere and Lauren Haarmeyer to finish 3rd in the event. Dunham not only place 2nd in the Triple Jump, but she also took home a bronze medal in the Long Jump. Junior Kate Evans took home two medals, placing 3rd in the 100M Dash and 4th in the Long Jump. Also have outstanding meets was Juliana Keenan (7th in the 400M), Marina Daywalt (8th in the 100M Hurdles), Coco Dunham (10th in the triple jump), Esther Musonda (10th in the javelin) and the 4x400 relay (Dunham, Keenan, Kristen Riddell and Meredith O'Donnell finishing 10th).

 

Girls Track not attending the meet at West Chester on 4/5

Due to the weather conditions, the Girls Track and Field team will not be attending the meet scheduled at West Chester University on Friday, April 5. Practice will be held that day.

Girls Track and Field pulls the upset win over Perk Valley

The Girls Track and Field team hosted undefeated Perkiomen Valley on Wednesday afternoon and put together their best performance of the season. Highlighted by a school record, several District 1 qualifying performances, a clutch ending to the meet and personal best performances across all of the events, the Lady Warriors beat PV by a score of 76-74.

Trailing by a score of 74-71 heading into the final event, the 4x400 relay, the quartet of Juliana Keenan, Camille Dunham, Tina Prince and Shannon O'Brien ran their fastest time of the season, cruising past the Vikings team to secure the final 5 points in the meet and seal the team victory. As exciting as the last event was, their heroics would not have been possible without some outstanding performances from several members of the team. Cam Rodriguez broke the school record in the Pole Vault, clearing 12' 0" to win the event. Nickie Annelli was also outstanding in the event, clearing 11' 0" and finishing 2nd. Freshman Devon Petrei was asked to do a ton and came through with a gutsy performance. Running both the 1600M an the 3200M, Petrei finished 2nd and 3rd in the respective events. Kate Evans led the sprint crew with a PR and District qualifying performance in the 100M (12.52 sec) and also her best time of the year in the 200M (25.99 sec) finishing 1st and 2nd in those events. Evans also anchored the 4x1 (Meredith O'Donnell, Coco Dunham, Riley Hydock) to a win. Juliana Keenan put together a fantastic meet, winning the 300M Hurdles as well as placing in both the 200M and 400M. The Dunham sisters, Camille and Coco, took 2nd and 3rd in the Long Jump and Triple Jump as well as their relay performances. Camille also placed 2nd to Evans in the 200M. Madi Eastmure placed in 2 events, winning the High Jump and placing 2nd in the 100M Hurdles (the PIAA State Champion from PV, Christina Warren was first), with a District qualifying time of 15.64 seconds. Senior Tina Prince couple her  4x400 relay performance with a 2nd place finish in the 800M. Sophomore Rory Stein garnered a very important 3rd place finish in the High Jump. Freshman Kristen Riddell did the same in the open 800M.

The Lady Warriors compete at the Upper Moreland Invitational on Friday before continuing their dual meet schedule at Norristown on Monday. 

Girls Track and Field earn 13 medals at Upper Moreland Invitational

The Girls Track and Field team traveled to Upper Moreland on a rainy Friday night. With the first 5 places receiving medals, the Lady Warriors took home the hardware 13 times. Although the conditions were less than ideal, the 4x100 Relay of Juliana Keenan, Camille Dunham, Coco Dunham and Kate Evans put together their best effort of the season, clocking in at a District 1 qualifying time of 50.59 seconds, winning the event. All four members also earned medals in other events:  Keenan - 5th in the 300M Hurdles, Camille Dunham - 2nd in the Long Jump, Coco Dunham - 5th in the Triple Jump, and Evans - 3rd in both the Long Jump and 100M Dash. Another athlete that brought home multiple medals was sophomore Madi Eastmure. Eastmure won the High Jump with a leap of 5' 1" and also placed 2nd in the 100M Hurdles (16.55 seconds). Placing 3rd and 4th in the 100M Hurdles were juniors Marina Daywalt (17.28 seconds) and Sabrina Williams (17.44 seconds). Senior Cam Rodriguez also brough home a silver medal with an 11' 0" clearance in the Pole Vault. Rounding out the medalist were the 4x800 relay members of Tina Prince, Devon Petrei, Alexa Marberger and Hannah Gerhart (4th place - 11:05.12) and Corinne Meyer in the the High Jump (5th place - 4' 9").

The Lady Warriors travel to Norristown on Monday with hopes of clinching a qualifying spot in the League Championship Meet with a win.

Another School Record, 2 National Qualifiers and 4 Meet Records Headline Girls Track at Palisades Invitational

Members of the Girls Track and Field team may have had off of school on Thursday, but they definitely didn't take a day off from competition. Nickie Annelli set a school record of 12' 3" with a pole vault win, also qualified for the New Balance Outdoor National Championships in the event. Teammate Cam Rodriguez will join Nickie at Nationals, as she cleared 12' 0" for a 2nd place finish. The vaulters were not the only athletes to have incredible meets. Kate Evan not only won the Long Jump with a leap of 17' 4" (also 2n in both the 100M and 200M), but she also set a meet record and qualified for the District 1 Championships in the event. Camille Dunham equaled Evans performance in the triple jump(also 3rd in the Long Jump), setting the meet record at 35' 11.75", also good enough for Districts. Two other meet records fell, this time in both hurdle races. Juliana Keenan won the 300M Hurdles, setting the new record at 47.92 seconds. Madi Eastmure won the 100M Hurdles (also 2nd in the High Jump), setting the new mark in the event at 15.80 seconds. 

The entire girls team put together an incredible effort, setting PR's throughout the meet. Other notable performances included:  Coco Dunham (2nd in the Discus, 3rd in the Triple Jump), Shannon O'Brien (2nd in the 400M), Sydney Hargrove (2nd in the Shot Put), Marina Daywalt (3rd in the 100M Hurdles).

The Lady Warriors travel to Great Valley on Saturday before competing at the Penn Relays on both Thursday and Friday.

Girls Track and Field picks up 11 medals at Great Valley Invitational

The Girls Track and Field Team enjoyed another successful meet as they traveled to Great Valley High School for the GV Invitational. Although the weather proved to be a factor at times with heavy rains and wind, the girls were still able to take home 11 medals, including a 4x100 Relay win. The quartet of Juliana Keenan, Camille Dunham, Coco Dunham and Kate Evans outran their competition in a time of 50.22 seconds. They will look to better that mark at the Penn Relays Carnival on Thursday. In addition to the group effort, Keenan took home a silver in the 300M Hurdles, Evans a silver in the Long Jump, Camille Dunham a silver in the Triple Jump as well as a 4th place finish in the Long Jump and Coco Dunham a 5th place finish in the Triple Jump. Madi Eastmure earned two medals on the afternoon, placing second in the High Jump and 3rd in the 100M Hurdles. Cam Rodriguez took home a bronze with her 3rd place finish in the Pole Vault. Two freshmen rounded out the medal winners, with 5th place finishes by Shannon O'Brien in the 400M and Camryn Steere in the 100M Hurdles.

The girls will travel to Penn Relays with their Varsity 4x100 and 4x400 Relays on Thursday and their Freshmen 4x100 Relay on Friday. They will round out the week at Pottsgrove in the Freshmen/Sophomore Invitational.

Girls Track forge a three-way tie for 1st in Liberty Division with win over OJR

The Girls Track and Field consists of 61 members, but only 4 are seniors. The youngest team in the PAC has grown by leaps and bounds over the course of the season. With an opportunity to create a 3-way tie in the Liberty Division with a win over Owen J Roberts on Wednesday, the Lady Warriors took advantage of their opportunity with a resounding 102-47 victory. 

It may have been senior day, but it was a day where athletes from all grade levels shined. In the individual events, senior Cam Rodriguez won the Pole Vault. Junior Kate Evans won the 100m and the 200m. Junior Juliana Keenan won the 300m Hurdles. Junior Camille Dunham won the long jump and triple jump. Sophomore Madi Eastmure win the 100m Hurdles and the High Jump. Sophomore Cerise Walker won the Javelin. Freshman Coco Dunham won the Discus. Freshman Kristen Riddell won the 800m. The winning 4x800 relay was led by senior Tina Prince and included junior Alexa Marberger, sophomore Maya Leber and freshman Kristen Riddell. The winning 4x100 relay consisted of freshmen Coco Dunham and Cameron Coless, sophomore Meredith O'Donnell and junior Kate Evans.

The team finished their regular season with a record of 4 - 1. They will try to defend their PAC Championship on May 10/11 at Norristown.
