PAC Championship Team Results and Team Info

We had some very good performances the last two days at the championships, finishing 3rd overall and a lot of personal records were set. We competed very hard as a team and I am proud of all of our accomplishment this season.
We will meet on Monday for our closing team meeting and for information of our upcoming picnic set for Sunday the 21st. All uniforms will need to be turned in and the locker room will need to be emptied out of all contents. For those of you that have not brought in their no frills fundraiser please do so Monday.

Haverford Invitational

The Boys Track team competed at the multi- school Haverford Invitational on Saturday and came away with some impressive performances. Pat Maloney led the way for the Warriors with a 1st place finish in the discus throw. Maloney’s throw of 149’ 9’ notched his first gold of the season and set a new meet record. He also finished 12th overall in the shot put in a field of 52 and qualified for the PAC Championship in that event.
Other medal performances on the day went to the 3rd place finishes by Mike Clark in the 800m with a PAC qualifying time of 2:02.39. Chase Reber in the Javelin with a throw of 152’6’’ and the 4x400 relay team of Mike Clark, Nick DeFilippis, Chris Meehan and Max Jones
4th place finishes went to the 4x100 relay team of Zac Gribosh, Lucas Carr, Joe McKeon and Josh Newman with a time of 45.05 and Leland Merskey in the Javelin, with a throw of 146’4 which qualified him for the Pac Championship.
Running in the talented field for the 3200m race was Garrett McPhillips who notched himself a PAC Championship qualifying time for his efforts and Alex Yablonski in the 110 hurdles who finished 9th overall and has now qualified for both hurdle events this season
The team opens up their league with an away meet at Boyertown on Wednesday

Boys Track open up season at Upper Darby Relays

Upper Darby- Methacton Boys Track Team had a great showing for the opening of their spring season at the Upper Darby Relays on Saturday. The warriors garnered several medals on the day being led by the first place finish by the 4 x 800 relay team of Aiden O’Leary, Nick DeFilippis, Josh Brycki, and Mike Clark. Freshman Matt Varghese also took home gold in his debut for the warriors in the JV 1600 meter race qualifying him for the PAC Championships with a time of 4:46.52
The team of Zac Gribosh, Lucas Carr, Joe McKeon, and John Keenan took silver in the 4 x 100 relay along with Pat Maloney and Nick Falcone scoring a silver in the Discus relay with a combined throws of 248’ 4”. Maloney’s effort on the day qualified him for the District 1 championships.
The Shot Put team of Karan Singh and Tonee’ Ellis finished the day with the bronze medal with a combined throws of 79’.1”. Singh’s effort qualified him for the PAC championships.
Scoring valuable team points for the Warriors with fourth place finishes were Max Jones and Matt Weisenberger in the Triple Jump and the Distance Medley relay team of Matt Varghese, Josh Newman, Sean Ritchie, and Justin Leggin. Fifth Place finishes by Chris Huber and Alex Yablonski in the 300 Hurdles, Chase Reber and Leland Merskey in the Javelin and a sixth place finish by Lucas Car in the High Jump.
Topping off the day for the Warriors was a new Freshman School record being set in the Sprint Medley Relay for the team of Mike Torcini, Nick Hanson, Nick Olivieri, and Kevin McCullogh with a time of 3:58.36
The Warriors finished Second overall on the day out of the 37 teams in attendance with a total of 55 points. Next week the Boys will travel to the Haverford Invitational on Saturday.
