The Warriors fell to 0-1 on a cold Friday afternoon against the Pennsbury High School. Pennsbury jumped out to a 3-1 first quarter lead. Brian Vawter had Methacton's lone goal as he finished a pass from Clay Sobocinski at the end of transition started by close defensemen Scott Markle. Methacton evened the score in the second quarter at 3-3 as Sobocinski and Eli Miller added a goal apiece. Pennsbury scored a late 2nd quarter goal to take a 4-3 lead into the half.
In the third quarter, an illegal stick penalty against Methacton's Eli Miller put the host Falcons up a man for 3 minutes. A broken clear during that period resulted in a Pennsbury goal and the illegal stick penalty did not release providing the hosts the opportunity to score one more during the penalty.
Trailing by four, Methacton was forced to press defensively and Pennsbury capitalized adding a 4th quarter tally.
Methacton returns to action on Monday as they visit Upper Merion for their second non conference game of the season. Upper Merion (1-0) opened their season with an 8-7 win against Suburban One League rival Upper Dublin.
