If your athlete sustains an injury during their sport participation, the Athletic Trainers are available to evaluate and give participation and treatment recommendations. Depending on severity of injury, parents may be notified via phone or athlete may be sent home with an injury report giving injury instructions and follow up care. Recommendations for physician evaluation may also be given.
If an athlete sees a physician (including but not limited to Emergency Department, walk in clinics, primary doctors, orthopedics), a physician signed note must be presented to the Athletic Trainer prior to participation. Note must include date, physician signature, diagnosis of injury and participation/treatment instructions.
If you need help facilitating an appointment for your child, please reach out to your school’s Athletic Trainer or email sportsrehab@jefferson.edu for orthopedic appointments with one of Jefferson’s orthopedic physicians. Athletes can typically be seen within 48 hours.
