Rams too much for Warriors in PAC-10 Contest

Methacton Boys Lacrosse faced the PAC-10's #1 seeded Spring-Ford Rams at home this afternoon in a hotly contested game.  The visitors found the net first on unassisted goals by Brian Bock and Zach Monzo.  The Warriors answered back as Cody Ridgway assisted on a Sean Aronow goal then found the net himself on a feed from Gabe Ferraro.  Spring-Ford struck twice more as Paul Major found the net first on an individual effort, then on an assist from Drew Thomas.

Methacton closed the gap to one on an Eli Miller goal assisted by Clay Sobocinski, but Spring-Ford would notch the next two as Bock asssted Monzo, then Major to stretch the lead to 6-3.  Scott Markle would score his second of the year to bring the hosts to within two and the teams would trade goals to end the quarter with the Rams holding an 8-5 lead.

Methacton looked to press the issue in the third quarter as they found the board first on a Clay Sobocinski goal on a pass from Ridgway for his 28th assist of the year.  However, Spring-Ford continued their offensive onslaught as both Major and Thomas would find the net again to hold a 10-6 advantage at the end of the third quarter.

The fourth quarter opened with another Spring-Ford goal to stretch the lead to 5, their largest of the day, but Methacton would respond with two goals from Cody Ridgway (his 20th and 21st on the year) to bring the gap to three.  Needing to press in the final minutes the Warriors found themselves man down and the visitors capitalized scoring the last two goals of the day for the final 13-8 margin.

Methacton falls to 10-5 on the season (8-4 PAC-10) and has three more contests this week as they face PJP II tomorrow at home for their Senior Day followed by road trips to Phoenixville and Plymouth-Whitemarsh to close out the regular season slate.
