Wildcats Prove Too Strong in 4th Quarter

Methacton's Boys Lacrosse team hosted Owen J. Roberts, who currently stands at 2nd place in PAC-10 standings.  OJR opened the scoring with just under 3 minutes gone in the game with an individual effort that beat Methacton goalie Harvey Smith.  The Warriors however, would take control of the game late in the quarter scoring three goals in the final 3 minutes.

Junior midfielder Ryan O'Toole started the scoring for Methacton as he beat the Wildcats defense for his first goal of the day.  Under a minute later Senior Aidan Denecke found Sophomore Kyle Kacala on a great feed to take the lead.  Denecke then added one of his own with just 3 seconds left on the clock to extend the Warriors lead to 3-1.  Denecke and Kacala would link up again in the 2nd quarter to extend the lead but OJR responded under a minute later to cut the score to 4-2.  The action was back and forth throughout the quarter but the Wildcats capitalized on a Methacton turnover to cut the lead to 4-3.  Despite multiple opportunities for both teams the score would remain 4-3 to end the half.

Methacton won the opening faceoff in the 2nd half but were unable to finish in transition.  However, an offsides call on Owen J. Roberts gave Methacton an extra man opportunity and they would capitalize as Senior Connor Stevenson stung the corner off of a Ryan O'Toole helper.  O'Toole would net another to build a 6-3 lead but OJR answered back with a string of four goals to build a 7-6 advantage.  A Kyle Kacala goal would draw the game even at 7-7 with just 13 seconds left in the third quarter.

The 4th quarter however, would be dominated by the Wildcats.  Owen J. Roberts dominated the scoring outpacing the Warriors 5-1 to build the 12-8 final score.

Methacton returns to the field Thursday as they travel to league Rival PJP II as they hope to end their PAC-10 skid.
