Girls LAX pushes win streak to 4

Senior Alexa Maloney poured in a team high five goals to help Methacton push their win streak to 4. Freshman Deb Peifer took a feed from fellow Freshman Sara Hughes to open the scoring less than 2 minutes into the game. Exactly two minutes later, Maloney scored off a feed from Freshman Maddie Alderfer to make it 2-0. Hughes and Alderfer (feed from Hughes) would make it 4-0 before Pottsgrove got on the board. Alderfer, Peifer, Senior Megan Gehert, and Sophomore Morgan Herber each scored a goal making it 8-1 with 9 minutes left in the first half. Pottsgrove scored to make it an 8-2 game but Sophomore Riley McCarthy chipped in a goal and add three more from Maloney to give the Warriors a 12-2 hafltime lead.
Maloney opened up the scoring in the second half with her fifth goal of the game off a feed from Junior Kristen McCrane. Sophomore Jess McNally scored on a free position to put the Warriors well ahead, 14-2 before Pottsgrove would get their final two goals. McCarthy, Senior Jenna Strizziere (2 goals), and McCrane (feed from Junior Kelly Glatthorn) finished the scoring for Methacton who got 6 saves from Sophomore goalkeeper Sam Rothman.
Methacton is now 6-3 overall, 5-3 in the PAC-10, Warriors return to action Friday against Upper Perk at home at 3:45pm.
