Below is a recap and a link to the box score for Methacton's 4-3 victory over Hatboro-Horsham this past Thursday the 28th.  The win puts the warriors at 1-0 on the season.  We open the PAC-10 season on Tuesday at home against Pottsgrove at 4:00. 

The Methacton Warriors varsity baseball team opened their season with a 4-3 win over the Hatboro-Horsham Hatters played at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando, FL on Thursday, March 28.  Mike Anthony pitched the first three innings for the Warriors, and Reed Hostrander earned the win on the mound with four innings of scoreless relief while striking out five of the fourteen batters he faced.  Hatboro-Horsham's starting pitcher, Zach Prendergast, went five strong innings, striking out nine of the first ten batters he faced, and thirteen overall.  Methacton scored once in the fourth on a lead-off single by Trip Hagner, and after two walks, he was plated on a ground ball by Danny Damato.   Methacton got to Prendergast in the sixth inning when a lead-off infield single by Tyler Kirkpatrick and two walks chased Prendergast.  Tyler Markovic came on in relief and surrendered an infield rbi single to Damato and a HBP of Anthony Santoleri.  Two fielding errors by the Hatters helped give the Warriors two more runs for the come from behind win.  There were two extra base hits in the game, a double by Tim Carfrey for Methacton in the third, and a double by the Hatter's Chris Naiberk in the third when Hatboro-Horsham scored their three runs.  Grant Opalsky also added two singles and two rbis for the Hatters.
