Girls Track and Field off to a 2 - 0 start after dominating Perk Valley and Boyertown

BOYERTOWN/PERKIOMEN VALLEY: 25
The Methacton Girls Track and Field Team started their PAC 10 season off with 2 decisive wins, beating Perkiomen Valley 117 - 29 and also Boyertown by a score of 124 - 25. Freshman Kara Steinke broke a 30 yr old school record in the 1600M run with a winning time of 5:10.7. She also won the 3200M run in 11:08.6. Seline Tan-Torres posted 2 wins, crossing the finish line in 47.6 seconds in the 300M Hurdles and 2:21.0 in the 800M run. Gabby Becattini took both the long jump and the triple jump with leaps of 17' .25" and 36' 6" respectively. Mel Leszcynski won the javelin with a throw of 132' 3" and the discus with a throw of 90' 11". Emma Sullivan won the pole vault at 10' 0" , Kelly Fields the 100M at 13.3 seconds, Haley Kramer the 100M Hurdles at 15.9 seconds and Vicki Schaeffer the high jump at 4' 10". Methacton swept all three relay events (4x100, 4x400 and 4x800). The girls travel to Plymouth Whitemarsh for the Colonial Relays on Saturday before returning to the PAC10 next Wednesday against Upper Perkiomen and Phoenixville.
