Girls Varsity Track and Field set 2 School Records at Great Valley

Although the rains cut the day short for the Girls Track and Field team at the Great Valley Relays, they stayed long enough to set 2 school records and bring home 4 top 3 finishes, including a relay gold.
Competing in a near downpour, Mel Leszcynski and Annie Moyer combined javelin throws to win the relay with a combined throw of 192' 7". The Shuttle Hurdle Relay team of Haley Kramer, Gabby Becattini, Lizzy Shadle and Dana Arcangelo set a school record in the event, finishing 2nd with a time of 1:05.72. Also setting a school record was the 4x1600M relay team of Shannon Palmer, Meredith Foulke, Brianna Earnshaw and Kara Steinke. They also placed 2nd in the event. The Long Jump Relay of Gabby Becattini and Katie Catania also came home with a 3rd place medal with a combined jump of 31' 9.5". The discus relay of Mel Leszcynski and Christine Jeffers placed 5th. The Pole Vault Relay of Kristin Beatty and Olivia Lee will earn a medal for their performance, but the weather caused the event to be suspended until Monday.
