The Girls Track and Field team continued their post-season in the same manner that they have performed throughout the regular season..............with several outstanding performances!!

Mel Leszcynski and Gabby Becattini led the way, each earning an individual District 1 Title.  Mel's performance came on Thursday, winning the Javelin for the 2nd year in a row with a throw of 129' 1".  Gabby had her best meet of the season, placing 3rd in the Long Jump with a personal best of 18' 2.75" on Thursday, then winning the Triple Jump on Friday, setting a new School Record of 38' 7.25".  The two athletes have earned a trip to Shippensburg next weekend to compete in the PIAA State Championship Meet.

The 4x800 Relay Team of Elexa Sherman, Shannon Palmer, Kaitlyn Saal-Ridpath and Seline Tan-Torres crushed the School Record and placed 6th with a time of 9:24.31.  The foursome, along with Kara Steinke, Brianna Earnshaw and Nicole Karsch will also make the trip to Shippensburg.

Seline Tan-Torres will also compete in the 300M Hurdles at the State Meet.  Her time of 45.94 seconds was enough to place her 6th in the District.

Other outstanding performances included Kara Steinke in the 3200M run.  She finished 8th in the race, but just missed qualifying for States by .1 seconds.  Katie Catania had an outstanding weekend as well, placing 9th in both the long jump and the triple jump.  Her 17' 3.5" long jump is a State Qualifying performance, but under the PIAA rules, only 8 athlete can advance from District 1.  Haley Kramer finished 11th overall in the 100M Hurdles, just .3 seconds from qualifying for the State Meet.  The 4x100 Relay of Lizzy Shadle, Kelly Glatthorn, Vicki Schaffer and Kelly Fields ran their fastest time of the year, finishing in 50.20 seconds, less than .3 seconds from the State standard.
