Lady Warriors bounce back in Wildwood

The Lady Warriors traveled to Wildwood, NJ on Friday and Saturday to take part in the Wildwood Boardwalk Basketball Classic at the Wildwood Convention Center.  This is the largest coed basketball tournament in the country featuring over 60 boys and girls teams from PA, NJ, DE and MD.  The Lady Warriors played in the George Betz Memorial bracket with Red Bank Catholic (NJ), Prep Charter (PA) and Pennsbury (PA). 

 

In the consolation game on Saturday, the Lady Warriors took on a 5-1 Pennsbury team and handled them easily 50-24.  Kelsey Watson unleashed a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds to propel the Warriors to victory in the George Betz Memorial bracket consolation and an 8-2 record on the year.  The Lady Warriors expanded an 8-6 first-quarter lead to 25-16 at the break, then pulled away with a 25-9 blitz in the second half. Jenna Carroll chipped in with 11 points and 6 boards for the Warriors (8-2), who forced 22 turnovers and held Pennsbury to 16 percent (8-49) shooting.
