CENTRAL BUCKS WEST (DISTRICT ONE AAAA PLAYOFFS): 59
University of Michigan recruit Nicole Munger fired in a game-high 20 points to power Central Bucks West to a 59-47 triumph over 12th-seeded Lady Warriors in the second round of the District 1-AAAA playoffs.
The loss sends the Lady Warriors to the playback round needing two wins in elimination games to return to the state playoffs. The Lady Warriors (18-8) begin that pursuit Saturday (1:30 p.m.) when it hosts No. 13 Penn Wood.
The Lady Warriors held leads of 1-0 and 7-6 early in the first quarter but could never build and then failed to withstand the runs of the Bucks. Building leads of 14-9 after one quarter and 30-20 at the break, No. 5 CB West blew things open with a 20-7 burst in the third period to go up 50-27. Kelly Glatthorn scored 18 points while Jenna Carroll added 8 points, 11 rebounds and 6 blocks for the Lady Warriors, which also got 9 points and one trey from Ryan DeOrio.
