Lady Warriors win Tip-Off Opener vs Ridley

The Lady Warriors rode a fast start, led by Seniors Ryan DeOrio’s game-high 14 points and Jackie Cerchio’s all-around play that produced 7 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists to the season-opening triumph at the Lady Warrior Classic. The Lady Warriors, which led 17-4 after one quarter, hosts Mount St. Joseph Academy in the championship game Saturday (4:30 p.m.). The teams will have now faced of in the last four Championship games of the tournament with the Mount winning the previous three. Freshman Sydney Tornetta also contributed 7 points in her first career game and start. Juniors Nicole Cooper and Jill Zerbe provided key minutes and play off of the bench for the Lady Warriors.
