The Lady Warriors seized control from the opening tip behind seniors Ryan DeOrio, Jackie Cerchio and Jenna Cooper en route to a 62-38 romp over Downingtown East in the opening round of the District 1-6A playoffs Saturday afternoon.
DeOrio finished with 15 points and five assists, Cerchio scored 13 points and grabbed 9 rebounds and Cooper added 11 points to pace the 13th-seeded Warriors (19-6), who led 17-7 after one quarter, 31-18 at the break and 47-28 heading into the final frame.
The Lady Warriors move on to face No. 4 Garnet Valley on the road Wednesday (7 p.m.), with the winner locking up a state playoff bid. Garnet Valley drew a first-round bye.
