Penjuke leads Lady Warriors to Senior Night victory over Owen J Roberts

Senior Abby Penjuke and Freshman Nicole Timko combined for 25 points as the Lady Warriors clinched the the No. 3 seed in the upcoming PAC Final 6 playoffs with the hard-earned Liberty Division victory Thursday night 41-35 over Owen J Roberts.
Trailing by 6 at the half, the Lady Warriors used a 22-2 run over the first 13 minutes of the second half to take a 14 points lead with 3 minutes remaining. They then had to withstand a final OJR push over those last three minutes to seal the victory an move to 17-4 on the season.
Avenging a 46-35 loss in early January, Methacton (7-3 Liberty, 12-3 PAC) used a 13-2 third-quarter edge to reverse a 22-16 halftime deficit and held on down the stretch behind strong work off the glass from Juniors Sydney Tornetta (6 points, 9 rebounds), Caroline Pellicano (3 points, 8 rebounds) and Sydney Hargrove (4 points, 7 rebounds).
The Lady Warriors honored Seniors Abby Penjuke, Sara Markley and Frankie Lucchesi prior to the game. The team closes out the regular season Monday 2/4 with a PAC crossover contest at Upper Merion. Then its on to the PAC Final 6 playoffs and a first round game on Thursday 2/7 vs Phoenixvile at SpringFord.
