Junior Sydney Tornetta and Senior Abby Penjuke each posted double-doubles as the 9 seed Lady Warriors opened the District 1-6A playoffs Saturday afternoon with the wire-to-wire victory over the Ches-Mont League entry the 24 seed Unionville by a final of 46-26.

Tornetta collected 17 points and 10 rebounds while Penjuke stuffed the stat sheet with 15 points on three triples, 10 boards, 5 steals and 4 blocks to help trigger a tone-setting 14-6 run in the opening period.

The Lady Warriors (21-5), which also got 11 points from junior forward Sydney Hargrove, closed out the triumph with a 15-1 blitz in the fourth quarter after the Indians (10-13) had crept back within 31-25.

The Lady Warriors (55-41 losers to Spring-Ford in last week's PAC championship game) will now play at (8) Downingtown East (Ches-Mont League champion) Wednesday (7 pm) in the second round of districts. The winner of that clash earns a state playoff bid and spot in the district quarterfinals.
