The third time proved to be the charm for the Lady Warriors, who locked up a state playoff berth Saturday by taking the District 1-6A, 11th place game by a score of 26-17 over Pennsbury.
Senior Abby Penjuke delivered 11 points and 7 rebounds for the Lady Warriors (23-7), which moves on to play District 11 champion Northampton in the first round of the state playoffs Friday at a site and time to be determined.
The Lady Warriors had a previous chances to clinch a PIAA playoff spot in the second round at (8) Downingtown East but fell 54-46 and again on Wednesday, but fell to (12) Plymouth Whitemarsh 35-30 in another offensively-challenged performance.
Playing for a second game without starting Junior forward Sydney Hargrove, who suffered a neck injury last Saturday in a 61-55 elimination game victory over Central Bucks East, defense and rebounding were the keys for the PAC representatives, who also got 8 boards from Sydney Tornetta and 7 caroms from Caroline Pellicano.
It will be the fourth time the Lady Warriors have gone to the PIAA playoffs in program history, their first trip since 2014.
