(4) Pennsbury 43, (5) Methacton 34 – The Warriors misfired badly in their District 1-6A quarterfinal loss to the host Falcons Saturday afternoon.

While not exactly lights-out from the free throw line this season – 54 percent (208-387) entering Saturday’s game – Methacton shot a dismal 32 percent (9-28) to drop into the playback phase of the tournament.

Nicole Timko knocked down three triples and finished with a team-high 13 points. .

The third quarter was also a problem for the Warriors, who fell behind 27-20 by the end of the frame after Pennsbury’s 14-7 run broke open a 13-13 halftime tie.

Cassidy Kropp added seven points and Caroline Pellicano complemented her seven rebounds with four points for Methacton, which has already qualified for the state playoffs and will now face (8) Upper Dublin in a district seeding game Wednesday.
