Sharpshooting senior guard Nicole Timko cashed 16 points and continued her move up the ladder in the Lady Warriors career scoring annals during the lopsided PAC Liberty 77-32 victory over the visiting Bears Thursday.
Timko surpassed both Maegen Gaile (1313 points, 1993-97) and Lauren Ruhl (1316, 2006-10) and into second place with 1324 points, still within striking distance but a longshot to surpass the Methacton girls all-time scoring leader (Renee Womack, 1682, 2006-10).
Timko showed her versatility at the defensive end with 6 steals for the Warriors, who expanded a 39-18 halftime lead to 64-22 behind a devastating 25-4 run in the third quarter. Other key contributors for Methacton, which knocked down 11 treys and showed no signs of rust despite being off for 14 days were Junior Cassidy Kropp (16 points), Junior Reana Torres (10 points), Senior Tori Bockrath (11 points) and Junior Mairi Smith (7 points, 8 rebounds).
The team is now 5-1 on the season and 2-0 in the PAC.
