(14) Garnet Valley 41, (3) Methacton 36 – The third-seeded Warriors were victimized by a 13-2 run in the third quarter in dropping the second round District 1-6A playoff decision.

The Warriors, who won the PAC Liberty and entered the league playoffs as the No. 1 seed, were coming off another difficult loss – a 49-33 setback to eventual league champion in the Final Six semifinals last Saturday.

Wednesday it was another disappointment despite the continued ascent of senior guard Nicole Timko in the Methacton career scoring books. Timko had 6 rebounds and a game-high 13 points to close within 25 of program leader Renee Womack. Womack (2004-08) had 1682 points while Timko now stands second with 1657.

Also for the Warriors (20-4 overall), who drew a first-round bye in districts and now hosts West Chester Rustin Saturday in 9-12 playbacks, Mairi Smith contributed 11 points and Tori Bockrath hit a trio of three-balls for 9 points.
