GRATERFORD – Glenn Diener scored off a corner deflection with 3 seconds left in regulation to help Methacton earn a 1-1 Pioneer Athletic Conference boys soccer tie with Perkiomen Valley Friday.
After a scoreless first half, the Vikings (0-0-1 league, 1-1-1 overall) got on the board when Brett Davis found the range 15 minutes into the second half with a 25-yard blast. Alex Dove picked up an assist on the play.
It stayed 1-0 until Diener provided his late heroics, ruining a strong performance in net by PV keeper J.R. Wolsky (9 saves). After two scoreless OT sessions, the contest ended in a standoff.
Methacton, which outshot the Vikings 14-11 but lost the corner battle 8-5, is now 0-1-1 in the league (0-2-1 overall). Taylor LeSage finished with 5 saves for the Warriors.
