FAIRVIEW VILLAGE – Joe Germano capped a furious comeback with a goal in the 68th minute to propel Methacton to a 3-2 Pioneer Athletic Conference boys soccer win over Perkiomen Valley Friday.
Germano’s strike – assisted by Matt Carey – enabled the Warriors (7-3-1 league, 9-5-1 overall) to overcome an early 2-0 deficit.
The Vikings (6-4-1, 7-7-1) had grabbed a 1-0 lead on Mike Flinn’s first-half goal and expanded the bulge to 2-0 in the 12th minute of the second half when Alex Dove found the range off an assist from Brett Davis.
But Methacton had an immediate answer. Luke Herber – assisted by Tony Rajabi – cut the deficit in half at the 23-minute mark of the second half before Rajabi’s penalty kick set the table for Germano’s hoeoics.
J.R. Wolsky posted 7 saves for Perk Valley, while Methacton keeper Taylor LeSage finished with five saves.
