The Methacton Girls Track and Field team continued to flourish in the early stages of the Indoor Track season with meets at Lehigh University and New York City this weekend. Competing in New York against over 200 teams, Seline Tan-Torres crushed the school record in the 1000M run with a time of 3:12.50. Tan-Torres also achored the 4x400 Relay team with Elexa Sherman, Zoe Bongiovanni and Kaitlyn Saal-Ridpath to a 6th place finish and State qualifying performance in a time of 4:08.00. The 4x200 Relay team was not to be outdone, as Lizzy Shadle, Kelly Fields, Saal-Ridpath and Gabby Becattini also placed 6th and qualified for the State Championships with a time of 1:47.83. Both relay times are currently #1 in PA. Becattini had another stellar meet, placing 5th in both the long jump (17' 3.75") and the triple jump (36' 8"). Both are State qualifying marks and her mark in the triple jump is also currently #1 in PA. Jacqui Schatz cleared 9' 0" in the Pole Vault to place 5th in the event.
