Marshall and Duffy take home medals as Girls Track and Field shines at the State Championships

Updated on 06/10/2022

On a day when former Methacton great Ryann Krais was honored as an inductee into the Track and Field Hall of Fame, current athletes showed their skills against the best that PA has to offer. Aghina Marshall, a state medalist outdoors last year, continue to step up when competing against the best, placing 4th in the Long Jump with a leap of 17' 9".  Caroline Duffy ran the second fastest time in school history (behind only Ryann Krais) in the 200M, placing 5th in the state. Her time of 25.38 seconds qualified her for the New Balance National Championship meet.

Other outstanding performances included the 4x400 relay team of Jess Holub, Angela Ramsden, Rainah Dunham and Caroline Duffy, as they finished 12th with a time of 4:06.75, nearly 5 seconds faster than their best of the season.  Jenny Martin competed in 2 events, finishing 14th in the 60M Hurdles and 19th in the Long Jump.  Nikki Serratore also competed in 2 events, placing 14th in the triple jump and 19th in the 60M Hurdles.  Rounding out the Methacton competitors was the 4x200 relay team of Carly Foster, Kelly Groth, Gianna Fazio and Aghina Marshall, who finished 21st.

A two time Penn Relays champion in the 400M Hurdles, Ryann went undefeated in her career in the 300M Hurdles, winning the State Championship all 4 years, including setting the State record and eventually breaking her own record.
