Boys Lacrosse Selects Captains for 2013

The Boys Lacrosse team announced two captains for the 2013 season.  The Warriors will be led this year by Senior Defenseman Zach Roumaya as well as his Defensive Teammate, Junior Andrew DeSana. 

Roumaya, a four year varsity player, is well respected by his peers both on and off the field.  Coach Ryan says "Zach is both a talented player as well as a great young man.  He's consistently working to do things the right way and is the type of leader we are really proud of in our program. 

Junior DeSana enters his third year on the Varsity, and takes on this leadership role as the only returning All-League selection for the Warriors.  DeSana was a second team selection for the Warriors last year in his sophomore season.  Coach Ryan noted "Andrew is both a talented and intelligent lacrosse player.  He has shown excellence both in the classroom and on the field and is a tremendous ambassador for our program.  I'm excited to see him step into this leadership role."

Both Roumaya and DeSana look to provide strong leadership as the Warriors undertake a challenging schedule in 2013. 

Thanks to all players who attended tryouts.  The following are the rosters for both the JV and Varsity Boys Lacrosse teams for 2013.  All rosters are subject to change throughout the season. 

Parents and Players:

Tryouts for the Boys Lacrosse team will be Monday (3/4) and Tuesday (3/5) of next week.  In order to try out, players must have the following:

1.  Physical Forms and Sport Eligibility Packet (All forms can be found here -  http://www.methactonwarriors.org/index.cfm?action=main.fileslinks )  Players may hand these in to coaches on the first day.  ***YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO TRY OUT WITHOUT COMPLETED PAPERWORK***

2. Pay to Participate Form/Fee (Please deliver these to the Athletic Office, NOT the coaching staff)

3.  Players must provide their own shoulderpads, arm guards, athletic protector, cleats, sneakers and mouthguard.  We can provide gloves and helmet if necessary.  If you have your own helmet and gloves, please use these for tryout purposes. 

Again, we are a cut sport and cuts are made as dictated by the number of players trying out.  We encourage everyone to come out and work as hard as they can.  Please direct any questions or concerns to nryan@methacton.org.
