Athlete: Abby Penjuke
School: Methacton
Sport: Girls basketball
The week that was: Abby, a 5-foot-9 senior point guard, scored 36 points (12 ppg, 7 threes) in the Warriors' three wins this past week over Perkiomen Valley (60-48) Tuesday, Upper Perkiomen (67-15) Thursday and Pope John Paul II (35-34) Saturday. Penjuke also contributed 11 rebounds, 7 steals and 7 assists in those three games.
Methacton Coach Craig Kaminski: "We came into this season without a true point guard on the roster. Abby has worked very hard on her point guard skills and came to the coaches stating she wanted to be in that role that the team needed. She knew doing this might hurt her scoring stats but so far this year she is averaging 9.5 ppg, has really taken care of the ball and helped others get into good scoring positions while playing almost every minute of every game. She is full of energy at every game and practice and is the heart and soul of our program."
