(3) Methacton 45, (6) West Chester Rustin 43 – Mairi Smith and Nicole Timko recorded double-doubles and the Warriors held off a late charge by the Golden Knights to lock up the sixth PIAA berth in program history with the narrow victory Saturday in the playback phase of the District 1-6A Tournament. Smith finished with a game-high 19 points and 11 rebounds while Timko stuffed the stat sheet with 16 points, 10 boards, 6 assists and 4 steals for Methacton, which held a 36-26 lead entering the fourth quarter – enough to withstand Rustin’s late 17-9 run. Timko now has 1673 career points, a mere 9 points behind all-time Methacton girls scoring leader Renee Womack, who cashed 1682 points between 2004-2008. (14) Garnet Valley 41, (3) Methacton 36 – The third-seeded Warriors were victimized by a 13-2 run in the third quarter in dropping the second round District 1-6A playoff decision. The Warriors, who won the PAC Liberty and entered the league playoffs as the No. 1 seed, were coming off another difficult loss – a 49-33 setback to eventual league champion in the Final Six semifinals last Saturday. Wednesday it was another disappointment despite the continued ascent of senior guard Nicole Timko in the Methacton career scoring books. Timko had 6 rebounds and a game-high 13 points to close within 25 of program leader Renee Womack. Womack (2004-08) had 1682 points while Timko now stands second with 1657. Senior Nicole Timko continued her quest for the Lady Warriors program scoring record with 23 points on the strength of four buckets from beyond the arc as the Lady Warriors dominated the Longhorns in their regular season finale 60-45 at Unionville. The Lady Warriors set the tone with an 18-9 edge in the first quarter, and were never seriously challenged to improve to 20-2 overall. Other key contributors for the winners were Junior Cassidy Kropp (11 points), Senior Tori Bockrath (8 points, 2 treys) and Senior Kayla Kaufman (7 points, 8 rebounds). The No. 1 overall seed in the PAC Final 6 tournament, the Liberty Division champions draw a first-round bye before facing the winner of the opening round game between Upper Perkiomen and three-time defending league champion Spring-Ford Saturday at Spring-Ford in the semifinals. Senior Nicole Timko poured in 29 points and made a serious move on the all-time program scoring record as the Lady Warriors went wire-to-wire for the nonleague victory Monday night 59-50 over Neshaminy.  The win moved to team to 19-2 on the season. Junior Mairi Smith added 10 points and 7 rebounds for the Lady Warriors, which draw a first-round bye as the No. 1 overall seed in the upcoming PAC Final 6 playoffs. The Liberty Division champions will face the Spring-Ford/Upper Perkiomen survivor in the league semifinals Saturday at Spring-Ford. Timko now has 1602 career points, 80 behind all-time scoring leader Renee Womack’s 1682. Womack played from 2004-08. Methacton 51, Wilson 39 – Senior Nicole Timko lit up the gym with 23 points, Senior Tori Bockrath added 11 on a trio of three-balls and Junior Mairi Smith stuffed the stat sheet with 7 rebounds, 5 blocks and 4 points to help the Lady Warriors (18-2 overall) get back on track from their only PAC loss of the season. Coming on the heels of Thursday's 41-38 loss to Perkiomen Valley that halted a 15-game winning streak, Methacton knocked down 8 shots from beyond the arc, shot a perfect 11-for-11 at the free throw line and used a 19-9 advantage in the fourth quarter to dispatch the visiting Bulldogs (13-5). Timko continued her pursuit of Methacton program scoring leader Renee Womack (2004-08, 1682 points) and is now 109 back with 1573 points. Perkiomen Valley's Grace Miley hit a clutch 3-pointer with 25 seconds left as the Vikings spoiled the Lady Warrirors bid for an unbeaten PAC slate in the league regular season finale for both teams Thursday night.  Perkiomen Valley won the game 41-38 at Methacton.  Before the game the Lady Warriors honored Senior players Nicole Timko, Caitlin Woolbert, Kayla Kaufman and Tori Bockrath along with Senior Team Manager Katie Hull as part of the Senior Night festivities.   Miley’s triple was her second of the night in the tight defensive affair that kept scoring at a premium. She finished with 7 points behind teammates Jennifer Beattie (12 points) and Quinn Boettinger (10). Perk Valley trailed 15-14 at the break but grabbed the lead with a 17-13 edge in the third quarter to ensure itself the No. 3 seed in the upcoming Final Six Tournament.. Nicole Timko scored 10 points and dished out four assists while Mairi Smith was strong on the interior with 8 points and 8 rebounds for the Warriors. Despite the loss, which ended a 14-game winning streak for the Liberty Division champions, Methacton will be the top seed in the league playoffs, which begin next Thursday at Spring-Ford. Junior Cassidy Kropp collected a game-high 22 points to lead three players in double figures as the Lady Warriors extended their winning streak to 14 with the hard-earned victory 54-38 victory at Boyertown. The Lady Warriros which also got strong showings from Senior Nicole Timko (12 points, 7 rebounds), Kayla Kaufman (11 points) and Junior Mairi Smith (9 points, 8 rebounds), overcame a 22-21 halftime deficit to keep the streak alive, posting runs of 14-4 and 19-12 in the third and fourth quarters, respectively, to survive the stern test.  It was the first time this season the Lady Warriors trailed at the half.  The team is now 16-1 and 11-0 in the PAC.  Methacton (54) – Fisher 0 0-0 0, Kropp 6 7-7 22, Arnold 0 0-1 0, K. Senior Nicole Timko cashed a game-high 18 points with 5 assists, Junior Cassidy Kropp contributed 8 points and 7 assists and Junior Mairi Smith ruled the paint with 6 rebounds as the Warriors extended their winning streak to 12 with the nonleague romp at the 15th Annual Hoops for Hope Classic at Delco Christian Sunday 51-28 over Villa Maria Academy (8-6). Also for the Lady Warriors (14-1 overall), playing for a third straight game without injured senior starter Tori Bockrath (8.3 ppg), Senior Kayla Kaufman, Freshman Abby Arnold and Junior Reana Torres combined for 21 points to help pick up the slack at the offensive end. After a sluggish start that produced a narrow 15-13 edge at the end of the first quarter, the Lady Warriors took charge, going up 27-20 at the break and tightening the defensive pressure in the second half, holding the Hurricanes to just 4 points in each quarter. Timko, who continued her quest to take over the top spot on the Lady Warriors career scoring list, was selected as the Under Armour game MVP for the winners. Timko now has 1501 career points, 181 behind all-time leader Renee Womack (2004-2008, 1682 points). It was a great day for a great cause with games taking place at Delco Christian School and Cabrini University.  All proceeds went to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia to fight Pediatric Cancer. The streaking Lady Warriors removed all the suspense in the first quarter, scoring 29 unanswered points and never looking back in recording the PAC crossover romp Friday night at Upper Merion 74-19.  The team moved to 13-1 overall and 9-0 in the PAC. Senior Nicole Timko cashed in a game-high 19 points to equal the entire offensive production of the visiting Golden Panthers as the Warriors extended their winning streak to 10 Thursday night with the blowout 53-19 win over PJP.  The win moved the team to 12-1 on the season overall and 8-0 in the PAC. In a battle of PAC Division leaders, the Lady Warriors took charge from the opening tip, racing out to a 10-7 lead after one quarter and extending it to 20-13 at the intermission. A 12-1 edge in the third quarter essentially ended the drama for the Warriors, who were playing without senior starter Senior Tori Bockrath (8.3 ppg), sidelined with an ankle injury. Junior Cassidy Kropp chipped in with 12 points on a pair of three-balls to help compensate for Bockrath’s absence. Coiming off a win on Tuesday night against four time defending league champ Spring-Ford, the Lady Warriors (10-1 overall, 5-0 Liberty, 6-0 PAC) went to Perkiomen Valley on Saturday with hopes of taking early control of the PAC Liberty division.  Perkiomen Valley (8-2 overall, 3-1 Liberty, 4-1 PAC) entered the game making waves with ayoung squad as challengers to Spring-Ford and the Lady Warriors in the Liberty.  After a back and forth first half that saw the Lady Warriors up 2 at the half in a tight contest, the Lady Warriors took control early in the second half and did not let up to take the 56-39 victory at Perkiomen Valley.  Junior Mairi Smith posted a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds and Senior Nicole Timko contributed 13 points and 5 assists as the Lady Warriors went wire-to-wire for their eighth straight win. The Lady Warriors posted a rare doubleheader sweep Saturday on their home floor, doubling their pleasure with a 74-25 PAC Liberty romp over Norristown and a 64-42 nonleague triumph over North Penn. Baseball Hall of Famer and the late Mr. Cub, Ernie Banks, who always said "Let's Play 2," would have loved it. The Lady Warriors, which were idle for nearly three weeks (Dec. 23 to Jan. 6) because of  COVID restrictions including a holiday break without the usual trip to Wildwood (NJ) for the Boardwalk Classic, improved to 7-1 overall and 3-0 in the PAC Liberty with the two wins. In the days second game, Senior Nicole Timko dropped 22 points with 4 triples and added 6 steals to help the Lady Warriors complete the doubleheader sweep. Sharpshooting senior guard Nicole Timko cashed 16 points and continued her move up the ladder in the Lady Warriors career scoring annals during the lopsided PAC Liberty 77-32 victory over the visiting Bears Thursday. Timko surpassed both Maegen Gaile (1313 points, 1993-97) and Lauren Ruhl (1316, 2006-10) and into second place with 1324 points, still within striking distance but a longshot to surpass the Methacton girls all-time scoring leader (Renee Womack, 1682, 2006-10). Timko showed her versatility at the defensive end with 6 steals for the Warriors, who expanded a 39-18 halftime lead to 64-22 behind a devastating 25-4 run in the third quarter.
